Yoga and Meditation Class - All Levels Welcome

The Health Group is sponsoring an ongoing combination Yoga and Meditation Class for all skill levels, including those who require a chair or program modifications. The classes are held every Wednesday in the Activities Room at the Lodge from 5pm-6pm. Each class is only $2.00 - pay as you go. Call for details.

Carando Health Seminar: Healthcare Reform and Medicare

Amy Rubino, SHIP Director with the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging, will be in the Lodge Auditorium on Tuesday, August 31 at 3pm to speak about the new healthcare laws and what it means for those on Medicare.

Carando Health Seminar: What Does it Mean to Donate Your Body to Science?

Ronald Wade, Director of the DHMH State Anatomy Board, will be in the Lodge Conference Room on Thursday, September 16 at 2pm to discuss this topic.

The 2010 Health Fair

This year's Health Fair will be held on Thursday, September 23 from 9am-2pm in the Lodge. New this year - The HH Bus will be running continuously during the Fair for those needing transportation! Also, back by popular demand, Vascular screening by Dr. Martin. The September issue of the Heart of the Matter newsletter will have all the program details to help you plan your day.

Croptoberfest 2010

Join us on Saturday, October 2 for a fun-filled Croptoberfest! It is an all day crop marathon for scrapbookers and card makers packed with door prizes, lunch, snacks, beverages, goody bags, and more! There will be plenty of room to spread out your things, and many creative people to share your ideas and gather new ones. A Creative Memories consultant will be on site for your last minute needs! Flu Shot Clinic in October

The annual Flu Clinic, in cooperation with Maxim Healthcare Services, will be held on Thursday, October 14 from 9am-1pm and from 2pm-6pm in the Lodge Multi-purpose room.

The 20th Anniversary Gala - Dinner and Irish Dance Performance

On Saturday, October 23, 2010 in the Lodge Auditorium, the Health Group will be celebrating 20 years of service to the community. The Gala event includes a cocktail hour, served (not buffet!) dinner and dessert, and an exciting performance by the Teelin Dance Company. More details of the program will be in the next Heart of the Matter Newsletter.

20th Anniversary Open House

On Thursday, April 8th we hosted an Open House at the office. We had a wonderful turn out and were very glad to welcome everyone who attended. It is you, our members, who have made the last 20 years possible. Thank you!

The 3rd Annual Vera Bradley Bingo

The 3rd Annual Bingo was held on Saturday, March 20, 2010 in the Auditorium. There was plenty of fun had by all, with 24 games of bingo, a 50/50 raffle, and two door prizes. Dinner of sandwiches, pizza, snacks, drinks, and baked goods were available too. Photos of the event will be posted shortly, so check back soon!
