Letter from the Executive Director

    Dear Heritage Harbour Community,

This year’s Health Fair was a wonderful success! I would like to thank the Health Group staff with special recognition of Susan, for her planning and organizing. I would also like to thank all of those who made our job easier by volunteering their time and energy and those who provided us with sandwiches and snacks. We greatly appreciate your help.

There were so many experiences and seminars to choose from that it was hard to decide what to do next! Many of you took the opportunity to experience seated massage, acupuncture, zero balancing, craniosacral therapy, foot reflexology and bra fittings. The vendors offering screenings were busy too, including: blood pressures, BMI evaluations, posture, vision and hearing. The skincare artists from Nordstrom were very busy doing facials and makeovers. What a nice treat that was!

Our 50/50 raffle winner this year was Irene Mykityshyn. Other raffle winners included: Grace Wigle, Cathy Larsen, Colleen Brown, Mary Whittington, Cheryl Sabol, Virginia Reinhart, Christina Mushaw, Phyllis Rogers, Priscilla Phillips and Reta Townshend. Congratulations to all of you.

Special thanks to Ledo Pizza of Edgewater, Three Brothers Italian Restaurant in the Riva Festival Shopping Center, and last but not least, Colonial Florist for the beautiful flower arrangements.

We are very excited about our upcoming event, an Autumn Auction and Dinner. Enclosed you will find a flyer with details. Be sure to see the reverse side of the flyer which lists many of the items to be auctioned. Many of the baskets would be great gift ideas with the holidays just around the corner. We have had some questions as to how a silent auction works. The items, many in gift baskets, will be displayed and accompanied by a detailed description, the value, and bidding form. A starting bid will be preset. If you choose to bid, you will sign your name and increase the bid. You may continue bidding on the items of your choice until 7pm at which time dinner will be served. The bidding forms will be collected and the winners will be announced immediately following dessert. Your winnings may be paid for by cash or check. You may choose to attend solely for the enjoyment of the dinner and socialization, you do not necessarily have to participate in the Silent Auction, but bring your checkbook just in case! Tickets will be sold through Thursday, October 23. We would love to see you there!

We are thankful for the support so many of you displayed in response to our Annual Appeal. Your continued support and generosity will help to ensure our presence here in your community.

Good-bye for now,
